UWB Coach of the YEar - Ricauter Fernandez

Ricauter began recruiting and coaching new Ultimate players when he was 16. Today he captains, coaches and mentors a group of 60 youth players in his hometown of Penonomé, Panama. In addition to spreading Ultimate in Panama, Ricauter’s goals are to complete his degree in electrical technology and play in the MLU or the AUDL. In the words of Ricauter, “It’s important to have high goals.” We agree! Keep up the great work Ricauter!

UWB- What is your favorite thing about Ultimate?
RF- “Spirit of the game is my favorite thing about Ultimate, because you are concentrating on being honest. In other sports, the objective is to win. But in Ultimate, you can explore your own emotions and learn to control your emotions.” “[In Ultimate], you have to know how to react in the moment and during the play, and you continually improve yourself.”
